This medication can affect the gastrointestinal system causing decreased appetite, vomiting, and diarrhea. These side effects may be reduced by giving this medication with food. High potassium levels may result in vomiting, muscle weakness, abnormal heart rates and rhythm. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.
Renal K+® may be added to your pet food in the amount directed by your veterinarian. Do not skip doses or stop giving the medication without consulting your veterinarian.
Cautions
Use with caution in the presence of cardiac disease. Do not administer to cats or dogs with acute, oliguric, anuric or very advanced renal failure. Do not administer in other diseases where high potassium levels may be encountered, such as adrenal insufficiency, acute dehydration or urethral obstruction.
