Dr. Julio Duran received his Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Universidad Michoacana de San Nicolás de Hidalgo Medicina Veterinaria, in Mexico in 1997. His thesis was on dog reproduction, but he was able to dedicate his time to large and small livestock animals, and more specifically dairy cattle. He moved to the United States in 2012, which led him to Orland, CA where he worked for a veterinary hospital for many years. He began his journey as a registered veterinary technician before he was able to gain his license here in the United States.
Dr. Duran joined the Butte-Oroville Veterinary Hospital team in 2018 as a small animal veterinarian and has been able to expose our staff to various farm animals, pocket pets and more – with his favorite being chickens! In his spare time, he enjoys spending time in nature, taking walks and being with his two children and family.
We are so happy to have Dr. Duran as a part of our team!
