Spays and Neuters

Spays and neuters are surgical procedures conducted under general anesthesia typically performed on pets after about six months of age. Both procedures help prevent surprise pregnancies and unwanted sexual behaviors, but also prevent diseases, and other health problems that can develop later in life. Since spays and neuters are price-sensitive procedures that new pet owners shop around for, it’s important to understand the standard of care often varies between hospitals. We don’t decrease our standards for these heavy subsidized procedures as surgery of any kind warrants the highest quality care and attention available.

At Butte Oroville Veterinary Hospital, we promise the highest standard of care to our clients using the latest technology, which allows us to prevent infections, manage pain and provide clear instructions for owners to adopt at home for a quick recovery.

Spaying or neutering your pet will benefit their health.
