Preventive Care

Parasite Control

The North Valley has the highest rates of heartworm disease cases in California. Heartworm disease is a serious and potentially fatal condition caused by parasitic worms living in the arteries of the lungs and heart and can be contracted by dogs, cats, wolves, foxes, ferrets and (in rare instances) humans. Heartworms are classified as filarids, a species of roundworm. By treating your pet every month, heartworm disease is preventable. All dogs and cats should be on monthly heartworm medications – visit our pharmacy tab to learn more and compare prices.
