Dr. Suzy Jones has been a small animal veterinarian in the Santa Fe area for over ten years. She graduated from Colorado State University's College of Veterinary Medicine following her Master's and Bachelor's in Microbiology from Eastern New Mexico University. Dr. Jones's professional interests include Traditional Chinese Veterinary Medicine, internal medicine, nutrition and gastroenterology, and cardiac and abdominal ultrasound.
Her interest in veterinary medicine began at a young age when she spent summers with both grandparents on their cattle ranches on the Laguna Pueblo reservation and outside of Portales, New Mexico. Other experiences such as raising Holstein dairy calves on a dairy farm, working for ambulatory dairy veterinarians, and practicing applied microbiology in a veterinary diagnostic laboratory solidified her desire to become a veterinarian.
Dr. Jones is thrilled to have completed the Certified Veterinary Acupuncturist (CVA) training from the Chi University in December 2024. Dr. Jones is scheduled to complete the Certified Veterinary Food Therapist and Tui-na programs at Chi University in 2025. This Traditional Chinese Veterinary medical training has been an invaluable complement to her Western veterinary medical practice. It has allowed Dr. Jones to appreciate how each patient can benefit from multimodal diagnostic techniques and therapies.
Dr. Jones is honored to have the opportunity to care for and build relationships with her wonderful patients and clients at VCA Arrighetti. She loves calling Santa Fe home and lives with her family, three "Pet-A-Bulls" rescue dogs, and a canary. When not vetting, she's at the gym doing CrossFit, skiing, or tending to her 200+ houseplants.
