I was born in Cleveland and grew up in Shaker Heights. When in high school I volunteered at the Natural History Museum helping care for their exotic animals. I went to Iowa State University and have a degree in Zoology and Psychology. I also went to Veterinary school at ISU. I moved to California south of Los Angeles after graduation. I worked at a small animal hospital in Torrance, CA for 3 years, and then opened my own Small and Exotic Animal Hospital in Lomita, CA. I sold my practice after 16 years, and moved to a small animal practice in Willoughby Hills. I worked there for 16 years, and have been with VCA for 1 year.
I have 2 adult children. My son lives in Southern California near his father. My daughter lives in Cleveland Heights with her husband and 2 kitty's.
I currently have only one dog, a golden retriever, as I recently lost my pointer mix to cancer. My Golden is handicapped, having only 3 legs, and is a loving senior. I have 3 cats, two Tortie's and a Siamese mix. They tolerate the dog, but are great friends to each other.
I love to read, walk in the woods, and to travel. I write poetry. I most enjoy spending time with my family (two legged and four legged) and friends.
