My name is Kathy Jo Pike and my home town is in Northeastern North Carolina, Elizabeth City.
I grew up around all types of animals and farming. I especially love dachshunds and horses. I started riding American Saddlebred Horses when I was 12 years old and got my first horse, Roxy, at 14 years old. After graduating High School at Northeastern, I moved to Williamston, NC, to attend Martin Community College studying Equine Technology. Then moved on to Apex, NC, to attend North Carolina State University. In 2006, I earned my bachelor's degree in Agribusiness Management with minors in Economics and Animal Science.
While in school at NCSU, I was granted the opportunity to become a "live in" assistant at Apex Equine in 2004 for night treatments, foal watch, and delivery. After graduating in 2006 from NSCU I took a secondary position as reception in small animal at VCA Apex & VCA Cornerstone. In September 2007 I moved to Pitt County to work at Firetower Animal Clinic. After six years in reception I took on the role of head receptionist at our sister location, Animal Hospital of Pitt County. In 2015, I became a part of our management team and in 2019 we became joined with Southern Veterinary Partners.
My fiancé and I have just recently moved to the Surfside Beach, SC, area and I am the new hospital manager for VCA Seaside Animal Hospital in Calabash, NC. Special Interests: Boring stuff=mowing grass, a lot of reading on my kindle, inventory management, budgets for the clinic. Crazy stuff=riding motorcycles and enjoying MB bike week. Fun stuff: Love spending time on the beach, grooming horses, spending time with fiancé traveling, visiting family and friends back home.
