Melissa has worked in veterinary medicine for over 20 years. She first started in veterinary medicine when she joined the Army in 1998 as an Animal Care Specialist. During that time she cared for the soldier’s family pets, and did 4 tours overseas providing medical care for the military working dogs. After 7 years in the military, Melissa relocated to Virginia and spent the next 10 years in private practice as a Veterinary Assistant. In 2015, Melissa joined the VCA family at VCA New Kent, where she started as a Veterinary Assistant, and then spent two years as the Office Manager. Melissa joined VCA Pets First in August of 2018 as the Hospital Manager.

In her free time, Melissa enjoys doing DIY projects, going to the movies with her daughter and being lazy and snuggling with her Boston terrier, Squish.
