Dr. Maggie Weston grew up in Prescott, AZ. She did her undergraduate studies at the University of Arizona in 2005 and went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from Washington State University in 2009. During her time at Washington State University, she completed several avian medicine externships in Costa Rica and Peru. While in Peru, she met and fell in love with her husband, Jorge. Thanks to her escapades in Latin America, Dr. Weston is fluent in Spanish.
Dr. Weston practiced small animal medicine, surgery, dentistry and urgent care for fourteen years in Sierra Vista, AZ, before joining VCA Valley Animal Hospital of Sahuarita in 2023. Dr. Weston is certified in canine rehabilitation and has a special interest in canine sports medicine and behavior. She is a Fear Free Certified practitioner and strives to provide a thorough and caring experience for both the pet and their human family members. Her greatest joy as a veterinarian is in guiding pet owners to achieve the best possible education and care for their pets from birth to end of life.
In her spare time, Dr. Weston enjoys spending time with her husband and two kids. She can usually be found watching a kids ball game, running, hiking or competing with her dogs in several dog sports. She and her family share their home with two Australian Shepherds, a border collie, three cats, three parrots and several fish.
