Dr. Andrea Bozkurt is the newest veterinarian to join VCA Indian Trace Hospital. She was born and raised here in South Florida to a Puerto Rican mother and a Turkish father. Because of her mixed heritage, she is very passionate about international travel and learning about medicine from around the world. After completing her undergraduate degree at Florida Atlantic University, Dr. Bozkurt left the US to attend veterinary school at The Royal Veterinary College in London, UK. While abroad, she took advantage of her proximity to other countries and did a lot of travelling, but she always knew she'd return home to South Florida after graduation.
Dr. Bozkurt adores spending time with her "girls": two German Shepherd dogs name Stella and Luna. She actually first became interested in veterinary medicine when her own dog was suspected to have skin allergies, which has led her to have a special interest in dermatology. Outside of the hospital, she can usually be found near the ocean, swimming in her pool, or playing tennis with her family.
