Kelly Love-Abel, DVM, received her undergraduate degree in Spanish from College of Notre Dame of Maryland. She then graduated from the University of Florida, College of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. She practiced emergency and critical care medicine for eight years in South and North Carolina, serving as Hospital Director for three years at Veterinary Specialty Care in Charleston, SC. She switched gears in 2013 and served as a veterinarian in the Army for three years, where she met her husband, also an Army veterinarian.

Upon transferring to Hawaii in 2016, in support of her husband’s military career, she joined the veterinary staff at VCA Waipahu. She has two boxers, Adelheid and Roxie, and enjoys swimming, running, cycling, and paddleboarding in her spare time.
