We are very pleased to welcome Dr. Emily Van Malden to our team!

Dr. Van Malden joined VCA Old Tappan Veterinary Hospital in June 2020. Prior to joining our team, she attended The College of New Jersey to earn a Bachelor of Science in Biology and earned her veterinary degree from Tufts University. In between college and vet school, Dr. Van Malden took a gap year where she worked as a dog trainer teaching obedience.

Dr. Van Malden was born and raised in Bergen County, New Jersey. After being away from New Jersey for four years, she is happy to be able to come back to serve the community that helped raise and educate her. She lives with her partner John, another North Jersey native, and their gray tabby cat Lola. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Van Malden enjoys playing Ultimate Frisbee, going on hikes, and trying to leash-train Lola.
