Dr. Julie Thorndyke joined VCA Peachtree Animal Hospital as the Medical Director in February 2020.

Dr. Thorndyke has a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine from Cornell University in New York, and a Bachelor of Science from Iowa State University.  She completed additional specialized training in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery through an internship at Angell Memorial Hospital in Boston.

Dr. Thorndyke is a native of Nebraska, and grew up showing horses which cemented her passion for animal care. She has worked in private practice in high quality, AAHA certified veterinary hospitals in Boston, Chicago, Scottsdale, and Philadelphia; She recently moved to the Atlanta area with her husband and 2 children.

Dr. Thorndyke received the Gentle Doctor Award for excellence in patient care, and has a special interest in geriatric medicine, dentistry, and soft-tissue surgery.

When she is not at the hospital, she can be found on the tennis court, doing home improvement projects, or traveling.
