Rachel Turner was born in Bitburg, Germany, while her father was stationed there in the Air Force. She grew up mostly in Alaska, where she graduated from Chugiak High School. After high school, she worked as a veterinary technician in both Alaska and Oregon. She worked with animals ranging from snakes, sugar gliders, hedgehogs, birds, dogs and cats. She has owned all sorts of reptiles, including snakes, lizards, and alligators. She even had a prairie dog for a while. Her love of animals follows her today as she supports the hospital, staff and community.
Rachel shares her house with her husband, Jason, and has two grown children, Breanna (19) and Cody (18). She also has a stepdaughter, Sierra, who lives in Washington, raising her two grandsons. The family enjoys gold mining, fishing, and camping. When they are in town, she and her husband are active dart players. Rachel and Jason have added two new additions to the family this year—Chewy and Von, Miniature Australian Shepherds, who they now take everywhere with them.
