Client service representatives or CSRs help you schedule, answer questions, check-in and check-out patients, handle payment collections, coordinate the day, and present your questions and updates to the doctors for consideration.
VCA Big Lake employs licensed technicians and veterinary assistants to uphold the standard of nursing care your pets deserve. Key roles include anesthesia induction and maintenance under doctor supervision, dental hygiene, radiology, phlebotomy (lab sample collection), lab processing, surgery preparation and operating room O/R assistance, housekeeping, patient treatments, history collection, and client education.
Technician assistants keep the practice flowing by helping with patient treatments, assisting with patient monitoring, surgery preparation, patient handling, housekeeping, supply turn-around, patient care, and ward duties.

Rachel Turner was born in Bitburg, Germany, when her father was stationed there while serving in the Air Force. However, she spent the better part of her childhood growing up in Alaska and graduated from Chugiak High School. After high school, she worked as a veterinary technician in both Alaska and Oregon, where she worked with animals ranging from snakes, sugar gliders, hedgehogs, birds, dogs and cats. Rachel has personally owned various types of reptiles including snakes, lizards, and alligators. She even had a pet prairie dog at one point in her life.
