Originally from the Calgary/Banff area, near the beautiful Canadian Rocky Mountains, Dr. Heather Connelly received her DVM degree from Western College of Veterinary Medicine in Saskatoon, Canada. She has been practicing for 15 years; 10 years in Canada prior to joining the VCA team in 2018. When asked what her favorite part about being a veterinarian is, Dr. Connelly says, "The satisfaction that comes with helping a patient, and the feeling I get from knowing that I have done my best for a patient."

Dr. Connelly has a special interest in Internal Medicine because she likes putting pieces together to solve a puzzle. She also enjoys working with cats.

Outside the hospital, Dr. Connelly stays busy raising a teenage daughter and skiing (she's a retired ski racer). Dr. Connelly is also a wine enthusiast. In fact, she's a Level 2 sommelier!

She also spends time with her two cats: Nala, a tiny calico, and Olaf, a big, white Siamese/domestic short hair.
