Zaun Kligge
Staff Veterinarian DVM

Dr. Kligge grew up in rural Newburg, Pennsylvania. The oldest of three brothers, he spent most of his time in the outdoors where he developed a fondness for nature and animals. From an early age he has had a strong love of animal. This compassion combined with his interest in education and science led him to pursue a career in veterinary medicine.

He began his studies at Shippensburg University before moving to Virginia and graduating from the University of Virginia with a B.A. in biology in 1997. It was in Charlottesville that Dr. Kligge discovered his calling while working at a local companion animal practice, Earlysville Animal Hospital. He also spent time working with horses at Blue Ridge Equine Clinic and with a mobile bovine veterinarian.  In 2003 he graduated from the Virginia-Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine, where he met and fell in love with his classmate and wife, Alison Edge, D.V.M.

Upon graduation in 2003, Dr. Kligge began working at VCA South Arundel Animal Hospital. At VCA South Arundel he has expanded his interests in radiology, ultrasonography, internal medicine, and client education. Dr. Kligge has over 70 hours of continuing education in ultrasound. Dr. Kligge has participated in the VMRCVM mentor program. He was the 2008-09 President of the Anne Arundel County Veterinary Medical Association and was honored to receive the 2010 MVMA Good Doctor Award. He is a member of the board of trustees of the Maryland Veterinary Foundation that grants educational scholarships to deserving Maryland residents pursuing all levels of veterinary medicine education. He was the chairman of the 2012 MVF Charity Golf Classic.

He resides in Annapolis with his wife, veterinarian Dr. Alison Edge, his daughter Aisley and son Soren. They share their home with two cats, Bucky and Ivy. In recent years they have lost 4 geriatric dogs and cats and understand how tough it can be to say goodbye to a pet.

Dr. Kligge is an avid golfer and also enjoys hiking, tennis and summer trips to Cape Cod. He enjoys walking with the family around Annapolis.
