Donna Koch, Staff Veterinarian

Donna Koch is a native Virginian and has lived in the Northern Va. area since 1985. She graduated from the University of Richmond and worked for a year in pediatric genetics at UVA Medical School before being accepted into the first class of VA- MD Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She graduated in 1984 and did a one-year internship in Charlottesville, VA.

She worked at Cherrydale Veterinary Clinic in Arlington for 17 years and Tysons Corner Animal hospital for 16 years before coming to VCA Commonwealth Animal Hospital. She loves getting to know our patients and their families.

In her free time, she enjoys spending time with her husband Scott Melton and son James. They have one dog, Shen, who is a wonderful girl. She also enjoys baking, traveling, photography and music.

"I have always wanted to be a veterinarian. I was fortunate as a kid growing up to have parents who supported me bringing home baby birds, turtles, mice and salamanders to live with us in addition to our own family dogs and cats.

I was fortunate to be accepted into vet school and still love this amazing profession, to be able to work with pets and the families who love them."
