Dr. Kris Rutar comes to our clinic with more than 20 years of experience in Veterinary Medicine. She is a graduate of Kansas State Veterinary School and practiced in the Midwest until 8 years ago when she took a position at Pender Veterinary Centre. She is passionate about practicing in a fear free environment and has a more focused expertise in dermatology, geriatric, and feline medicine.

She calls Reston her home and has 2 dogs (Sherlock & Watson), as well as one cat (Darth Vader), to keep the house full of love and companionship. In her free time she enjoys gardening, travel, hiking, and biking.
