Wellness Exams

All pets should be examined at least once a year in order to prevent or detect health problems.  The physical examination is also an opportunity for you to discuss important wellness issues with your pet's doctor.  It's one of the best ways to help your pet keep healthy and stay around for as long as possible.

Our veterinarians are trained to recognize the subtle signs that can indicate that your pet is having a problem.  We use all the same diagnostic tools as your own physician - blood tests, urinalysis, X-rays, ECGs, and more - to help pinpoint or rule out problems.

A comprehensive physical exam includes checking the eyes, ears, nose, and mouth, the gastrointestinal system, the heart and lungs, and the musculoskeletal system.  After the hands-on examination, our doctors may recommend vaccinations, a fecal examination and heartworm test, and give recommendations on routine wellness care, such as flea and tick prevention, intestinal parasite control, heartworm prevention, weight management, and dental cleanings.
