Dr. Marsha Ellwood is originally from Scottsdale, Arizona, but moved to Hillsboro, Oregon while she was in elementary school. She spent her childhood summers in Colorado with her grandparents on a Thoroughbred farm with many dogs, cats, horses and a pet cow.
Dr. Ellwood earned her Bachelor of Science in Geology from Portland State University and worked in the field of geology for a few years before attending Oregon State University and Washington State University Veterinary Colleges. She graduated as a member of the Phi Zeta Honor Society, an honor given to the top two members of her Junior class and the only honor society of veterinary medicine in the United States. In her senior year, she was class president of the student chapter of the American Association of Feline Practitioners. Dr. Ellwood has been with VCA Rock Creek Animal Hospital since she graduated in 2000. She loves small animal medicine and surgery, including preventative care.
In her free time, Dr. Ellwood loves spending time with family. She also enjoys hiking, wildlife photography and travel. When in town on her days off, she can be found at the Oregon Coast or hiking in the beautiful Columbia River Gorge.
