Tru grew up in Big Lake, Alaska, and has lived there her entire life. She attended Houston High School for most of her education before transitioning to homeschooling so she could work full-time, ultimately graduating in 2025.
Growing up in a household with 5-10 pets at a time, Tru developed a deep love and understanding of animals from an early age.
Before joining VCA, Tru worked in retail and residential cleaning jobs starting at age 15. She never imagined herself working at an animal hospital, but she believes, “Everything happens for a reason, and the staff here is like a big family.” Since joining VCA, Tru has greatly expanded her veterinary knowledge and loves seeing all the pets that come through the doors.
Outside of work, Tru enjoys spending time with her family and partner, Malaki, getting coffee, shopping, and taking her daughter, Jaylon, to the park to play.
