Dr. Sarah Marhofer hales from Ionia, Michigan. Prior joining VCA Marshall in 2022, she received both her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine and Bachelor of Science in Fisheries and Wildlife degrees from Michigan State University. Dr. Marhofer's special interests include wound care, preventative medicine, soft tissue surgery and urgent care. She says, "Being able to alleviate pain and discomfort is a huge honor". 

Holding certifications in Fear Free, RECOVER CPR, Companion Animal Euthanasia Training and AAHA Animal Hospice & Palliative Care provides additional skills allowing her to help pets and their families by providing education and limiting the stress of veterinary visits as much as possible. 

When she is out of the hospital, Dr. Marhofer enjoys reading, traveling, kayaking and gardening. Spending quality time with her husband, Seth, their chocolate Labrador Retriever, Echo, and their nub tail cat, Spikette, is her favorite pastime.
