Lisa Christensen, Associate Veterinarian

Dr. Lisa Christensen fulfilled her life-long dream of becoming a veterinarian in 2000 after earning a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine jointly from Washington State University and Oregon State University. Prior to that, she completed her undergraduate degree in Zoology at Oregon State University. She has been a practicing veterinarian at Pacific Avenue Veterinary hospital since 2000.

Dr. Christensen has specific interests in Geriatric Medicine, Preventative Medicine, Dermatology, Advanced Dentistry, Rehabilitation and Sports Medicine and Behavior. She was nominated to attend the 2009 North American Veterinary Conference Institute where she participated on an intensive course in Dermatology and Ear Disease Therapy. She has also attended numerous continuing education courses and laboratories in Dentistry and Periodontal Therapy. This year she has begun the training for certification in Canine Rehabilitation Therapy which is a new field in veterinary medicine that will help so many of our post operative orthopedic patients, our geriatric patients and our sports athletes.

Dr. Christensen has been training her dogs in competition obedience and agility for 14 years. Dr. Christensen enjoys the company of her dogs Ronan and Marley, her 5 wonderful cats and 2 ½ horses. In her free time Dr. Christensen loves hiking, horseback riding, training her dogs, and spending time with her family.
