Dr. Lisa Christensen fulfilled her life-long dream of becoming a Veterinarian in 2000 after earning a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine jointly from Washington State University and Oregon State University. Prior to that, she completed her undergraduate degree in Zoology at Oregon State University. She has been a practicing veterinarian at Pacific Avenue Veterinary hospital from 2000 to the present.
Dr. Christensen has specific interests in Geriatric Medicine, Dermatology, Advanced Dentistry, rehabilitation and sports medicine. She was nominated to attend the 2009 North American Veterinary Conference Institute where she participated on an intensive course in Dermatology and Ear disease therapy. She has also attended numerous continuing education courses and laboratories in Dentistry and Periodontal Therapy. In 2016, Dr. Christensen became certified in Canine Rehabilitation through the Canine Rehabilitation Institute. She uses this training to provide post-operative orthopedic rehabilitation and geriatric mobility and pain management care.
Dr. Christensen has a passion for training her horse in dressage, her dogs in competition obedience and agility. She enjoys the company of her dogs, cats, and 1 ½ horses. In her free time, Dr. Christensen loves hiking, horseback riding, training her dogs, and spending time with her family.
