Dr. Melissa Suarez received her DVM from Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2005. She also obtained a Bachelor of Science with a focus in Animal Science from LSU Agricultural and Mechanical College in 1999. She is a native of Laplace, Louisiana, a small community located just outside of New Orleans. After graduating in 2005, she practiced for three years in North Las Vegas, NV, and moved closer to home with her growing family to Allen, Texas, in 2008. She has been practicing in Texas ever since and enjoys free time with her husband, three children and three dogs.
Dr. Suarez has great compassion for all of her patients. She enjoys all aspects of canine and feline medicine and surgery, with a particular interest in challenging internal medicine cases, pain management, preventative medicine, and ultrasonography. She is also skilled in soft tissue surgery. She is an active and proud member of several national and local veterinary associations. Outside of veterinary medicine, she enjoys reading, cooking, being a mother to three beautiful children, spending time with family, and enjoying the company of her dogs, Winky, Gumbo, and Beignet.
