Dr. Rebecca Dowd received her DVM from Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine in May 2022. She also obtained her Bachelor of Science in Animal Science from Texas A&M in 2016. Dr. Dowd was born and raised in Plano, attended Plano Senior High School, dreamed of becoming a veterinarian since the 3rd grade, and has a love and compassion for all animals.
Dr. Dowd's areas of interest include internal medicine, clinical pathology, infectious diseases, dermatology, and dentistry. She is a Fear-Free and Cat Friendly Certified Veterinarian passionate about making veterinary visits as stress-free as possible. Dr. Dowd is accredited by the USDA to provide international and interstate travel certificates.
When she is not working at VCA Preston Park Animal Hospital, Dr. Dowd enjoys attending concerts, Dallas Mavericks games, watching Aggie football, trying out new restaurants, playing Nintendo Switch games, and hanging out with her kitties, Barney and Ted. They are named after characters from the TV show How I Met Your Mother.
