VCA Animal Emergency Critical Care

Our Story

For nearly two decades, family veterinarians and pet owners throughout northern Virginia, Maryland and West Virginia have trusted AECC for emergency services and advanced critical care. Our team is comprised of professionals who are more than just medical specialists…they are pet lovers, too. That’s why we’ve made our life’s work providing lifesaving services at Loudoun County’s only comprehensive, state of the art ER, critical care and specialty hospital.

As part of an elite group of emergency and critical care accredited referral services, we staff our full-service emergency room and ICU with board-certified critical care specialists whose expertise affords our team the advantages necessary to provide the highest level of care for your pet. As board-certified members of the American College of Veterinary Emergency and Critical Care, mastery of the most recent developments in veterinary care, diagnostics, and techniques means they have the skill to manage the most complicated medical disorders. Together with our dedicated team of ER clinicians and talented technical personnel, we provide the intensive care your pet needs when they need it most.

The LifeCentre Advantages

At The LifeCentre, pets benefit from a convenient continuum of care provided by a team of compassionate specialists who are always ready to serve and who play a supporting role for their LifeCentre partner practices. The founding specialty practices established deep roots in the community, a solid nucleus that attracted additional, like-minded specialty practices to embrace our mission: to offer superb, comprehensive, specialty care in partnership with primary care veterinarians and to serve as a resource for pet owners in need of emergency and critical care.

Hometown Care at VCA Animal Emergency Critical Care

Our facility is equipped with the latest tools and technologies for fast, accurate, and effective treatment. Equipment alone cannot save lives. Our greatest distinction is our highly skilled and experienced professionals. When every second counts, we are prepared to act swiftly and expertly. Our emergency doctors are experienced, professional, and have a passion for emergency medicine.

From minor emergencies to complex traumas, AECC serves as an adjunct to family veterinarians. When a pet requires overnight observation, experiences an after-hours emergency, needs advanced diagnostics, requires emergency surgery or intensive care, or would benefit from collaboration with an entire team of specialists, AECC is a sure thing. Regardless of the final diagnosis, AECC manages, coordinates, and delivers the most comprehensive treatment options, consulting with and providing reports to primary care veterinarians throughout the entire process.
