Dr. Anne Dayton was born and raised in the Reno/Sparks area, attending local schools including Reed High School. She decided she wanted to become a veterinarian at the age of 5. Anne received a B.S. with Honors in both Biology & Veterinary Science from UNR, and graduated Summa Cum Laude from the Ohio State University School of Veterinary Medicine.
She externed at the Animal Medical Center in New York City and was selected for a prestigious internship at West Los Angeles Veterinary Medical Group (one of the first large private specialty practices), where her interest in surgery blossomed. She moved back to Reno after finishing her internship to join VCA Baring Boulevard Animal Hospital in 1987 where she has been ever since. She served as the president of the Western Nevada Veterinary Society in 1993 and 1994 which has since merged with our southern neighbors to become the Nevada Veterinary Medical Association. Anne became a partner in the practice in 1999. She continues to have a special interest in all aspects of surgery.
Dr. Dayton resides in the area with her family of humans and animals: Her Husband Gary; 3 sons- Connor, Jared, and Ethan; their dog Molly; and their cats Eliot and Ceasar. As a family, they enjoy traveling and the outdoors including hiking, skiing, snowshoeing, and kayaking.
