Dr. Sandoval was raised in the Reno/Sparks area. He was active in the Washoe County 4-H livestock program where he developed his interest in veterinary medicine. He attended Bishop Manogue Catholic High School; graduated with honors from the University of Nevada-Reno, and subsequently was accepted by The Ohio State University College of Veterinary Medicine. His mother and brother; Governor Brian Sandoval, also graduated from The Ohio State University.
Following graduation in 1986, he moved to Minden, Nevada to practice at Carson Valley Veterinary Hospital. In addition to working on dogs and cats, he treated horses, cattle, sheep, goats and llamas. In 1999 he moved to Sparks and became partner and hospital director of VCA Baring Boulevard Animal Hospital. As hospital director, Dr. Sandoval continues to see a limited number of patients. Additionally, his special interest is in canine reproduction. He enjoys the camaraderie with the VCA Baring Boulevard Animal Hospital veterinarians and staff. When not at work he loves spending time with his family, road cycling, and custom built stereo equipment.
