Dr. Robert Mansfield grew up in Southern California, where his first pet was a Siamese Cat. He graduated from California State University with a bachelors degree in Biology and minors in Chemistry and Computer Science. He then moved to Dixon to pursue his veterinary degree at the University of California, Davis. Following graduation in 1984, he began practicing small animal medicine in Roseville, California.
In 1992, Dr. Mansfield became a partner at the Granite Bay Veterinary Clinic and eventually the sole owner in 2008. With the help of his wife, Karen, he was able to transform the Granite Bay Veterinary Clinic into an oral health and nutrition center. He sold the practice in April 2017, and moved to Palomino Valley. Dr. Mansfield then started with us here at VCA Baring Boulevard Animal Hospital, which he says has been a lot of fun.
He keeps busy raising chickens, mini horses and Yorkshire Terriers with his wife. He also enjoys hiking, four wheel driving in the Nevada mountains and building and playing guitars and amplifiers.
