Jill Crawford
Medical Director DVM
Dr. Jill Crawford knew she wanted to be a veterinarian ever since she was a child. She fondly remembers the love she felt for animals a child and carried that passion into her schooling, career, and now in practice at VCA Contra Costa Animal Hospital. Growing up in the Bay Area, Dr. Crawford completed her undergraduate Bachelor's degree at Cal Poly San Luis Obispo, and then graduated with her Doctorate in Veterinary Medicine from Western University of Health Sciences.

Following the completion of veterinary school, she elected to continue her education by partaking in a one year small-animal rotating veterinary internship through VCA Encina Veterinary Medical Center in Walnut Creek, CA.  Her desire to help animals only intensified and she decided to practice emergency and critical care veterinary medicine before coming to VCA Contra Costa Animal Hospital in 2013.

Since then, she has been the primary veterinarian and Medical Director of VCA Contra Costa Animal Hospital! Dr. Crawford has now shifted her professional interest from emergency veterinary medicine to ophthalmology, non-invasive ultrasound diagnostics, and overall wellness care of pets of all ages.

During her time away from the hospital, Dr. Crawford especially enjoys spending time with her family (husband, two kids, and Paisley, their family dog), local getaways, and home improvement.
