Marie was born in Anchorage, Alaska, but grew up here in Vancouver. She has lived in the Portland area since 2010.
Marie received her degree as a veterinary technician from Portland Community College in 2006. After working in emergency medicine for several years, Marie made the transition to general practice at VCA EMPAH in July of 2009. Shortly thereafter, Marie became our technician supervisor, overseeing EMPAH's team of licensed veterinary technicians. In 2018, Marie took on the hospital manager role and is excited to take on new challenges while continuing her career in veterinary medicine.
Marie lives with her wonderful husband, Daniel, and their menagerie of animals: a Pekingese/Chihuahua mix named Joon, a Pomeranian/Husky mix named Kavik, and a sweet tortoiseshell cat named Delia.
In her free time, Marie runs a small maker business sewing purses, zip pouches, and other small sewn goods. When she has time beyond that, she is usually found spending time with her little family or friends, traveling, being outdoors, estate selling, listening to music, and watching movies.
