Leanne is a Portage native who graduated from Portage Northern in 1999. She attended Michigan State University and majored in Zoology with a concentration in Animal Behavior. Leanne began working in the veterinary field in 2002 at a mixed day practice, then moved back to Kalamazoo in 2005 where she worked at a cat only practice until 2017. She has only just begun her journey in emergency medicine where she is constantly learning and expanding her knowledge.

In her spare time, Leanne fosters bottle baby kittens for Kalamazoo Animal Rescue and has been for the past 12 years. She has a chihuahua named TJ Twinkle Toes and a herd of cats; Darius, Rama, Freya, Colossus, Jasper, Cormia and Wrath- all of whom were adopted from Kalamazoo Animal Rescue.
