Nancy was born in Jackson County, Michigan and grew up in Rives Junction on a small farm. Animals have always been a huge part of her life. As a teenager she was active in FFA and 4-H. Nancy attended Michigan State University majoring in Agricultural Communications. Marriage and the birth of six kids put her education on hold until the youngest was in school. Eventually, she earned her BS in Business Management and entered the work force. Nancy has managed pet stores, veterinary practices and written papers on Environmental Enrichment for Dogs, Cats and Rabbits. Two years ago, she returned to work at VCA VSECK and now works as Referral Coordinator. Outside of work, Nancy enjoys gardening, crafting and hiking with her husband and three dogs: Millie, Maynard and Mabel.  (Their cat, Sammi, enjoys the solitude when the rest are out of the house). Family is everything to Nancy and she couldn't be prouder of her six adult children, their spouses and her two grandsons.
