Veterinary School: Ross University
Dr. Vera Dyment is available for wellness, elective surgery, urgent care and has specialty training in medical oncology. Dr. Dyment is a New England native and grew up in Hingham, Massachusetts. She attended the University of New Hampshire and received an associate's degree in Applied Animal Science, and received a Bachelor of Science degree with honors cum laude, in Pre-Veterinary Medicine. She then attended veterinary school at Ross University in the Caribbean. Dr. Dyment then completed a one-year rotating small animal medicine and surgery internship at VCA Veterinary Referral and Emergency Center in both Norwalk and Shelton, Connecticut. Dr. Dyment then completed two specialty one-year duration internships in medical oncology. She completed the first medical oncology internship in July of 2016 in Florida at the private referral hospital, Affiliated Veterinary Specialists. She recently joined the VCA Roberts team after completing a second medical oncology and clinical trials internship at The Ohio State University in July of 2017. Although Dr. Dyment enjoys all aspects of veterinary medicine, she is most passionate about educating owners on current cancer therapy and tailoring personalized treatment plans, but most of all enjoys experiencing the strong human-animal bond between owner and their beloved, older (and wiser), furry family members. Outside of veterinary medicine, Dr. Dyment loves spending time outdoors and being active with her two island dogs she rescued while in veterinary school, Leena and Koda. She also has two feisty, tuxedo kittens named Denver and Binx. Other hobbies include, CrossFit, down hill skiing, ice hockey, horseback riding, hiking, and surfing, among other outdoor activities.
