REDDING, CA – July 21, 2020 - VCA Animal Hospitals is offering free boarding assistance for pets that have been displaced by the Hog Fire in Northeastern California. The fire burning west of Susanville in the Sierras in Lassen County has burned about 8,000 acres and resulted in evacuations orders for many nearby residents. 

“Our regional VCA hospitals are here to provide free boarding assistance to affected pet owners so they know their pets are safe while they attend to their priorities,” said Dr. Todd Lavender, President, VCA Animal Hospitals and Petcare Services. “We understand how stressful it is with so much going on at this time and our six nearby hospitals are here to help.” 

Boarding assistance is offered on a space-available basis to pet owners at the following VCA hospitals. Families are encouraged to call ahead to ensure that space is available.
