Dr. Dawson received her DVM from Kansas State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2009 and subsequently completed a general rotating internship at VCA Fifth Avenue Veterinary Specialists in New York City, New York. This was followed by an oncology internship at the Veterinary Cancer Group in Tustin, CA. She then completed a residency in small animal oncology at Texas A&M University. After completion of her residency, Dr. Dawson was a clinical assistant professor at Texas A&M University, Department of Small Animal Clinical Sciences for 4 years. She is a diplomate of the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine - Oncology. 
 
Dr. Dawson has two standard poodles named Burt and Boo and enjoys her free time with family and friends. She joined the VCA Animal Diagnostic Clinic staff in March 2018.
