Dr. Porterpan graduated Louisiana State University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2001 and then completed both a general internship and small animal internal medicine residency at Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine. She achieved board certification in small animal internal medicine in 2007 by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine. Upon completion of her residency, Dr. Porterpan elected a one-year clinical associated position at Texas A&M University College of Veterinary Medicine where she performed teaching duties for the veterinary students on clinical rotation as well as managing the emergency and critical care cases presenting to the Small Animal Teaching Hospital. She was presented the Wadell Scholarship Award in 2005 in recognition of exceptional merit and outstanding achievement in postdoctoral studies in emergency medicine at Texas A&M University. Dr. Porterpan's professional interests emphasize emergency and critical care as well as gastroenterology and clinical nutrition.
