Samantha Calamis-Hearty
Assistant Hospital Manager
Samantha joined VCA New Hartford Animal Hospital in 2015 when she relocated to the area from Middletown, NY. She started her career at the hospital working in the Care Center, our former boarding and grooming facility. Samantha also assisted the Client Service Representatives when needed before officially transitioning over as a Client Service Representative after the hospital's renovation in 2019. During the ensuing years, she became more involved in learning and assisting with administrative work. Samantha had been pursuing a degree in Psychology but realized her passion was Veterinary Management. Over the last few years, Samantha grew in her role and became the Supervisor for the Client Service Department. From there, she became an Administrative Assistant to the Hospital Manager, and was promoted as the Assistant Hospital Manager in January of 2022. Samantha works alongside our Hospital Manager and Medical Director to help lead VCA New Hartford Animal Hospital's dynamic culture, communication, and best practices for the hospital team and clients. She is currently enrolled in college to further her business education. Once she completes her education, she will study to sit for her CVPM exam. The Certified Veterinary Practice Manager (CVPM) credential is the industry's highest credential for veterinary practice management professionals. Samantha lives in New Hartford with her spouse and three cats (Kiwi, Albie, and Melon).
