Growing up in western Pennsylvania, Jennilee Morrison graduated from St. Francis University with a degree in Marine Biology where she also played Division I soccer. She attended veterinary school at The Ohio State University, where she continued her soccer career. She went on to further her training with a small animal rotating internship at Veterinary Emergency and Referral Group in Brooklyn, New York.  She advanced her knowledge of non-traditional species while completing a three year residency in Avian and Zoological Medicine at the University of Tennessee,.

Her professional interests include aquatic animal medicine, wound/pain management, and endoscopy and surgery. She has presented at numerous conferences and veterinary student lectures and has published research involving non-steroidal anti-inflammatory medicines in birds: Pharmacokinetics of a Single Dose of Oral and Intramuscular Meloxicam in African Penguins (Spheniscus demersus).

She resides in Pittsburgh with her husband, two pibble mixes (Tank and Eddie), two Japanese fire-bellied newts, a red tail boa, an Angolan python, and soon to be an epaulet shark and Toco toucan. Besides birds, her favorite animal species are fish. Outside of veterinary medicine, Jennilee enjoys hiking with her dogs, Harry Potter, and playing soccer.
