Dr. Kim was born and raised on a farm in a very rural area in South Korea. She grew up with and always loved to be around all kinds of animals. She received her Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine degree from Chonbuk National University in Jeonju and after practicing in Seoul and volunteer service in Fiji, earned her Master's degree in Wild Animal Health from the Royal Veterinary College in England.
Dr. Kim moved to the US and received her US license at the University of Oklahoma. She practiced in Northern Virginia for fourteen years and is interested in internal medicine and public education in small animals, wildlife and exotics.
Dr. Kim, her husband, Trace, and her two daughters, Mahri and Serin, moved to the Salt Lake City area in August 2020. They have two cats, Dunngi and Pixie, and a terrier named Chincoteague. They enjoy travel and outdoor activities such as hiking, biking and skiing.
Dr. Kim is excited to share her love of and dedication to animals as she joins the wonderful team at VCA Willow Creek.
