Dr. Ann Cooper was born and raised in eastern Pennsylvania. She received her doctorate in veterinary medicine from the University of Pennsylvania in 2011 and completed a rotating internship in Small Animal Medicine and Surgery at Red Bank Veterinary Hospital in New Jersey the following year. She then moved to southern California where she researched stem cell-based therapies for inherited retinal diseases at the University of California, Irvine before completing a 4-year residency in Comparative Ophthalmology at The University of California, Davis in 2019.
She became board-certified by the American College of Veterinary Ophthalmology in 2021. Dr. Cooper has experience treating small, large and exotic animals. She enjoys building relationships with clients and their pets to develop a team-based approach to patient care. Her special interests include inherited and acquired retinal disease, ocular surface disease, and ocular manifestations of systemic disease. When she is not in the clinic, Dr. Cooper enjoys spending time with her husband, young son, and fluffy cat, Ted.
