Dr. Birkl is originally from Long Island, New York, and earned her bachelor's degree in veterinary biomedical science from Penn State University's Schreyer Honors College. She went on to earn her Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree from St. George's University, completing her clinical training at the University of Tennessee College of Veterinary Medicine in Knoxville.
As an associate veterinarian at VREC Westbury, Dr. Birkl is passionate about providing exceptional patient care while continuing to advance her clinical skills. She has a particular interest in emergency and critical care medicine and enjoys working alongside specialists and emergency clinicians to deliver the highest level of care to patients and their families.
Outside of the hospital, Dr. Birkl enjoys spending time outdoors, going to the beach, playing volleyball, reading, enjoying a good iced coffee, and spending time with her Labrador mix, Riley.
