Amanda K. Rang
Medical Director DVM

Dr. Amanda K. Rang joined the VCA team in 2020. She came to VCA Far Country Animal Hospital in October of 2021 and promoted to medical director in June of 2022. She graduated from Texas A&M University with a bachelor's degree in biomedical science in 2007 and then a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2010. Dr. Rang completed a farm animal internship at the University of Illinois in 2011; afterward, she went to North Carolina State University to complete a master's degree and a food animal residency with emphasis in theriogenology (reproduction) in 2013.

From there, she joined a thriving mixed animal private practice as an associate veterinarian in Belton, Texas, until 2017, then Dr. Rang and her family moved to Okinawa, Japan. Dr. Rang worked with the military community as a civilian veterinarian at Kadena Air Base until 2020. Dr. Rang's professional interests are in dentistry, reproduction, surgery, and teaching.

Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, going on adventures in the great outdoors, and singing karaoke!
