Dr. Jenny Tarr is a native of Indiana. Ever since she was a child, she dreamed of becoming a veterinarian. She was drawn to the profession because of a love for animals and as an adult this attraction was strengthened because of a love for the people attached to those animals.
She earned her degree in Biology at Butler University, with minors in Chemistry and Business Administration, before graduating from the Purdue University School of Veterinary Medicine in 2007.
Dr. Tarr has practiced at several hospitals on Oahu, including VCA Kaneohe from 2008 to 2012. In 2016, she commissioned into the United States Army Veterinary Corps and spent three years at Naval Base Kitsap in Washington, caring for military working dogs and supporting public health missions. Though the Army was a rewarding experience, she missed Hawaii and returned in 2019.
Her special interests include emergency medicine, critical care, and surgery. Outside of work, she enjoys running, reading, and spending time with her husband and their two cats.
Dr. Tarr is excited to be back at VCA Kaneohe and looks forward to reconnecting with old friends and meeting new ones.
