Dr. Gregg Levine was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona. He did his undergraduate schooling at the University of Colorado in Boulder and graduated in 1998 from Veterinary School at Colorado State University. He received his certification in Veterinary Acupuncture at Colorado State University in 2007 and his certification in Canine Rehabilitation Therapy at the Canine Rehabilitation Institute in 2015. Dr. Levine eventually joined VCA Kaneohe in 2002.
When asked what his special interests in veterinary medicine are, Dr. Levine said, “I have a strong interest in integrating veterinary acupuncture, rehabilitation therapy, and herbal medicine to complement traditional veterinary therapy - specifically to treat pain and degenerative conditions. Early intervention with dogs and cats diagnosed with problems with the spine, shoulders, hips and knees will greatly reduce the need for chronic therapy with strong pain and anti-inflammatory medications.”
Dr. Gregg Levine also has a passion for ocean conservation and marine animal veterinary medicine. He is closely affiliated with the marine animal stranding response network here in the Hawaiian islands and is honored to be able to help sick and injured Hawaiian Monk Seals, Sea Turtles, Dolphins and Whales.
When asked about hobbies, he joyfully stated, “I absolutely love the outdoors and being on and in the ocean or the mountains. Being able to share those experiences with family and friends is the best. It is such a blessing to live in the islands surrounded by incredible natural surroundings.” This truly fits in well with words he lives by in all parts of his life… “The time is now. The place is right here. Take a deep breath and live each moment completely.”
