Shelby Fisher

Veterinary Assistant

Shelby Fisher is a veterinary assistant who started in the field in 2018 in emergency medicine. She graduated from WSU with a degree in Wildlife Ecology and Management in 2022, then started working with the VCA Parkway team soon after. Shelby is working toward becoming a wildlife veterinary technician and hopes to one day work in a zoo or wildlife sanctuary. In her free time, you can find Shelby training her dogs, gardening, cooking, hiking, motorcycle riding, or volunteering at SR3, where she is obtaining hands-on medical experience with sea mammals. She is driven by a desire to make a positive impact on the world, and her work reflects that commitment.

Shelby's family consists of her fiancé, a cavalier/mini-Aussie mix named Violet, a Weimaraner named Nettyl, a domestic shorthair cat named Mama Kitty (a name given to her by her previous clinic, where she was left with her kittens), and multiple Holland Lop rabbits. Providing quality care for animals isn't just what she does, but it is who she is.
