Daniel Shaiken received his Bachelor's in Animal Science from UConn in 2013 and went on to get his DVM at Tufts Cummings School of Veterinary Medicine in 2017. He rejoined the VCA family in February 2022 as relief before joining us as our Medical Director at VCA Vernon. Dr. Shaiken, his wife, Casey, 2 cats (Ollie, 9 years; and Shea, 8 years) as well as his 2 dogs (Pattie, 12 years, Lab mix; and Murphy, 5 years, Great Pyrenees), currently live in Glastonbury, CT.

He loves building long term relationships with pet parents and empowering them to play an active role in their pet's medical care.

In his spare time, Dr. Shaiken likes to travel, hike, play soccer, and watch the Liverpool FC as well as UConn basketball.
