Dr. Amy Komitor is a Colorado native and completed her DVM degree at Colorado State University. Following graduation, she completed a small animal medicine and surgery internship at VCA West Los Angeles Animal Hospital in California. Immediately after her internship, she relocated to Columbia, Missouri, where she completed a Neurology-Neurosurgery residency. Her residency research involved the development of biomarkers to evaluate patients with degenerative myelopathy. Dr. Komitor returned to Colorado following her residency and she joined the VCA VSNC team in 2012. She is happy to again serve the pets and people of Northern Colorado.
Dr. Komitor’s practice includes both medical and surgical neurology. While she enjoys all aspects of neurology, areas of particular interest include seizure management, treatment of encephalitis, and spinal and brain surgery (including spinal fractures and subluxations). She also takes particular interest in advanced imaging, specifically MRI and CT in the diagnostic process.
In her spare time, Dr. Komitor enjoys hiking year round with her rescue Labrador, Sam.
If you have questions regarding the referral of a neurologic patient or the application of diagnostic testing with neurologic patients (including MRI), please contact Dr. Komitor.
