Dr. Packer is board certified in Neurology by the American College of Veterinary Internal Medicine, with a certificate in Neurosurgery. She completed her BS degree in Animal Behavior at Bucknell University in 1993, MS degree in Zoology in 1995 and Doctor of Veterinary Medicine degree in 2001 from North Carolina State University. She completed her internship at the After Hours Small Animal Emergency Clinic in 2002, and a neurology internship at the University of Georgia in 2003. After completed her residency in Neurology/Neurosurgery at the University of Missouri in 2006, she spent most of her career in academia training veterinary students and residents. She has been on faculty at Purdue University College of Veterinary Medicine for 7 years, and on faculty at the Colorado State University College of Veterinary Medicine and Biomedical Sciences for 8 years, prior to joining VSNC in 2022.
Although she enjoys and is well-versed in all aspects of Neurology and Neurosurgery, Dr. Packer has a special interest in neurosurgery, neuro-oncology, and movement disorders.
When not working, Dr. Packer enjoys traveling, spending time in the mountains, and playing violin.
